With shrieking gasps heard in the background, Dr. Conrad Murray met his fate today, as he was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson. Dr. Murray was denied bail and faces up to four years behind bars.

Is Katy Perry The Queen Of Pop?: The Songstress Ties Michael Jackson’s Record

Katy Perry made history this week. Katy’s single “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” became the fifth #1 single on the Hot 100 from her Teenage Dream album. The only other artist in pop history to spawn five #1 singles was Michael Jackson in 1987 with his album, Bad . Katy Perry is the first female pop artist to achieve the feat, which makes me wonder–is she the new Queen of Pop? Or does Lady Gaga still remain at the top? Looks like music fans now have another throne to watch.

MTV Turns 30 Years Old

30 years ago today, MTV launched with the words “Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll,” spoken by John Lack, and played over footage of the first Space Shuttle launch countdown of Columbia and of the launch of Apollo 11.
