The NFL Lockout Is Officially Over
Monday, July 25th, 2011Thank God, the NFL lockout is officially over! NFL players voted to OK a final deal Monday, days after the owners approved a tentative agreement, and the sides finally managed to put an end to the 4½-month lockout, the longest work stoppage in league history.
“This is a long time coming, and football’s back,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said, “and that’s the great news for everybody.”

Is Football Back?
Friday, July 22nd, 2011Well… not quite. Today, owners voted and agreed on a 10-year labor agreement, but players have yet to vote on this agreement. In their proposal, the owners told players that they must re-establish their union quickly for the proposed CBA to stand. Hopefully, we can get an answer by Friday and get the 2011 season started on time–or started at all for that matter.
The NBA Locks Out Players
Friday, July 1st, 2011As if the NFL lockout weren’t bad enough, the NBA locked out its players today when its collective bargaining agreement expired. This is the first time since the 1998-99 season. Gonna be interesting to see how this one turns out.
Mike Brown Is The Los Angeles Lakers New Head Coach
Wednesday, May 25th, 2011Today it was announced that LeBron James’ former head coach, Mike Brown, is the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Brown, who was fired from the Cleveland Cav’s almost a year ago to the day, is expected to sign the $18.25 million four-year contract later on this week God Willing. Congrats to Mike! Now all they need is Dwight Howard and L.A. will be good to go.
Former NBA Player Robert ‘Tractor’ Traylor Found Dead
Wednesday, May 11th, 2011Former NBA player and University of Michigan standout Robert “Tractor” Traylor was found dead in Puerto Rico. Police in San Juan said Traylor was found dead Wednesday on the bedroom floor of his oceanfront apartment. Police and Traylor’s team, the Bayamon Cowboys, said he had been missing for a few days and apparently died from a heart attack. Traylor is survived by his wife and two sons. Our prayers go out to the Traylor family.
An Emmy Before A Grammy For Nas
Saturday, May 7th, 2011Mr. Nasir Jones garnered himself a National Sports Emmy for his ESPN documentary “Survival 1.” The powerful film follows two amputee victims of the Liberian civil war who form a soccer team and eventually become champions. Nas produced, directed and scored the music for the film. “After all these years of making music, I am honored to have this be the first award I ever won of this magnitude,” he said after his much-deserved win. “An Emmy before a Grammy. Crazy [bleep]!”

Michael Vick Loses Madden NFL 2012 Cover
Thursday, April 28th, 2011Michael Vick’s comeback story just got a little less sweeter. Cleveland Brown half-back Peyton Hills beat out the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback in fan voting to become the cover star of the Madden NFL 2012 video game. Over 13 million votes were cast on ESPN.com.
