Actor Michael Clarke Duncan, star of ‘The Green Mile,’ died this morning morning in Los Angeles. Duncan, with his larger-than-life physique and signature baritone, suffered a heart attack on July 13 and never fully recovered according to a statement released by his publicist Joy Fehily. Music executive Chris Lighty, the man behind the careers of 50 Cent, Fat Joe, LL Cool J, Diddy, Mariah Carey and numerous others, died this morning from a reported attempted suicide. The force behind Violator Management allegedly shot himself after an argument with his estranged wife outside of his Bronx, New York apartment. He was 44. Another day, another legend passes away. God rest the soul of disco queen, Donna Summer, as she has passed away today at the age of 63. TMZ reports that Donna died from lung cancer and was in Florida at the time of her death.
This is such sad news. Legendary singer Whitney Houston has passed away at the age of 48. TMZ reports that Whitney died at the Beverly Hilton hotel. The singer was in town for Grammy weekend and was set to attend Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy concert tonight.

God rest the soul of Don Cornelius, the creator of the iconic Soul Train, as he has died this morning at his Los Angeles home. AP reports that Mr. Cornelius committed suicide. He was 75.
Officers responding to a report of a shooting found Cornelius at his Mulholland Drive home at around 4 a.m., police said. He was pronounced dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at 4:56 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, said Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter.

Legendary R&B singer Etta James has passed away at age 73 at a hospital in Riverside, California. Ms. James was reported to have been diagnosed with dementia and leukemia, a form of cancer. A six-time Grammy winner and seventeen-time Blues Music Awards winner, Etta is widely recognize for her hit “At Last”. Our prayers go out to her family, friends, and fans. God rest her soul.
The Los Angeles coroner’s office are reporting that Heavy D died of natural causes. Specifically, the cause of death was pulmonary embolism and deep leg vein thrombosis. He also had arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease. God Bless Heav’s family, friends, fans and loved ones.
Boxing legend Smokin’ Joe Frazier died last night from liver cancer at the age of 67. He was diagnosed less than six weeks ago and spent his final days in a Philadelphia-area hospice.
